Nuestra Viña nacio, como concepto y primeras actividades, en 1987. Dos ilusionados socios, Aurelio Montes y Douglas Murray, ambos con larga experiencia en el mundo del vino, tenian la certeza que Chile podia producir vinos mucho mejores a los que se estaban produciendo. Daba la impresion, entonces, que las Viñas grandes y medianas estaban conformes con limitarse a si mismas a un mercado de supermercados. Ciertamente sabian como producir mejores vinos pero no parecian existir las ganas, se veian conformes con ese nicho, amplio pero con techo bajo. En 1988, se sumaron los otros dos socios originales, Alfredo Vidaurre y Pedro Grand, cada uno aportando cualidades y aportes complementarios necesarios y diferentes, y Viña Montes nacio formalmente, inicialmente como Discover Wine Ltda., la saga que la ha dado conocer en mas de 75 paises internacionalmente y llenado a Chile de elogios y reconocimientos.

Our winery was born as a concept and initial activities in 1987. Two excited partners, Aurelio Montes and Douglas Murray, both with long experience in the wine world, were certain that Chile could produce wines much better than those that were taking place. Gives the impression then that Vines large and medium were content themselves with a simply market to a supermarket. Certainly they knew how to produce better wines, but there seemed to be the rack, they look conform with that niche, large but with a low ceiling. In 1988, joined the two other original partners, Alfredo Vidaurre and Pedro Grand, each providing complementary skills, inputs required and different, andMontes vineyard formally born, initially as Discover Wine Ltd., the tradition that has known in more than 75 countries internationally and filled with praise and recognition to Chile.
